Understanding the power of the Instant Pot comes with time but once you find how diverse this kitchen appliance is the options will be endless. In this blog post we are going to show you how make cornbread right in your instant pot.
Before you start here is what you will need
- Instant Pot (Click for more information)
- Silicon egg mold (Click for more information)
- Box of cornbread mix
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- Tin Foil
- 1 cup water (bottom of instant pot)
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cornbread mix, milk and egg. You only need to mix it together and don’t worry the mix will be lumpy.
Spoon the batter with a 1 tbsp measuring spoon into each egg bite mold. You are going to want to make sure to only fill each 3/4 of the way.
Next, you will want to cover the egg mold top with tin foil.
Next, pour 1 cup of water into the instant pot pressure cooker and place the trivet in the bottom. Put the egg bite mold on top of the trivet.
Lock the lid in place and make sure the leveler is set to sealed. Select High Pressure and set the timer for 10 minutes. Wait for the beep sound, turn off pressure cooker and use a natural pressure release for 2 minutes and then do a quick pressure release to release any remaining pressure. When valve drops carefully remove lid.
Using tongs take the trivet out and let set for 3 minutes before carefully taking off the tin foil. With a spoon or dull knife gently go around each cornbread bite loosing it from the egg bite mold. Then take a plate and put on top and quickly flip over and the cornbread bites should now be ready.
